Pedestrian bridges executed with a T-girder construction allow longer spans and offer low maintenance costs. The T-girder cross section is built up by transversely joining several vertical girder webs and horizontal glulam beams. The girders are held together with glue and transverse bracing.

The girder webs can be manufactured with a camber to give the bridge a slight arch. T-girder bridges are highly rigid and can therefore span long distances. The road surface is sealed with a waterproofing membrane and asphalt or gravel. T-girder bridges are usually made in one span as they are capable of spanning distances of up to 30 metres. Dimensioning and surface treatment are executed in accordance with the current Swedish bridge standard and the service life is 80 years.
