Martinsons’ construction system for homes in apartment buildings has during years been developed, both building technically and environmentally. The work has resulted in a new generation of passive houses with a energy consumption of 50 KWh/m2 per year in line with the requirements of so called sustainable houses. Wind-proof houses

To achieve the status of a passive house it is a requirement that the house is wind-proof. This is ensured thanks to the well-reasoned construction with density in the construction elements and connections.

 

Transmission

To prevent as little heat as possible to be lost by transmission the passive houses have thicker walls than other houses. Further, the triple glazed window with glass fillings gives good U-values.

 

Ventilation

The passive houses are equipped with a on demand controlled ventilation system which consists of either a heat exchanger or a heat pump.

 

Hot water

The heat exchanger through the shower drain separates black water from grey water which makes it able to utilize the heat. It also contributes to the floor to dry faster.

 

Wood is natural material in passive houses

Wood construction parts have a  low energy consumption at manufacturing and the wood buildings also bind carbon during their whole life span which contributes to preventing climate change.
